Day 15: You can do More

After an EXTREMELY long and exhausting day, I nearly punked out of my workout and plopped down on the couch. Then I heard my potential calling and got my butt on the trainer.

So yesterday when I was reflecting on believing how great I am and can be, I realized there was a very noteworthy caveat. Complacency. Excuse my language but, potential ain't shit without action. It's just not. You can have all of the powers of the universe within you and it won't mean a thing if you do do anything with them. Think about it.

There are so many folks in this world who are wasting their potential. Some because they feel trapped, some because they ARE trapped, some because they don't know their true potential, and some because they genuinely just don't care. I feel like I've never had that problem. I can see myself in so many things, I've usually been pretty great at identifying the potential in myself, a situation, and others. I'm also usually pretty good at identifying how much I care and am willing to put forth to make something happen.

That's where I'm circling back to the idea of believing your own hype. Being honest with yourself is likely the most important ingredient to success. Will you honestly put forth the effort to realize your full potential? Or will you make a half assed effort and hope for the best?

I think most humans waiver in between the two, but I've been doing what I can to stay on the tenacious side of things. When I see myself slipping into complacency or comfort, I tell myself "You can do more". Nine times out of ten, it's true.
