Hey it's 2017!

I may or may not have gotten talked into riding a mountain bike in a CX race wearing sneakers.... Likely why i'm sick... but stupid amounts of fun.  Maybe I'll try it again when it's not pouring out...

It's been 2017 a week, and I feel like I've already accomplished a ton! Other than being sick at the moment, I have been working just as hard off the bike, as I have been on the bike. I'm pretty excited to share my 2017 projects with y'all, and I hope that you'll participate and support them! I am embarking on year 3 of my journey, and I can feel myself getting closer to that ultimate goal every single day! Even when my depression and anxiety try to get the best of me, I have somehow trained an even stronger inner voice to remind me "You are going to make this happen, and it is going to be fantastic". I will, and it will. Quote me on that. For those of you who don't follow me on social media... why not? COME ON you GUYS!!!

I shared my top moments of 2016, there's some pretty good ones! GET ON THAT!

So it looks like 2016 Ayesha was afraid to blog goals (because I can't find any), but I definitely had goals. Including race as many USA Pro Crits as I can get to, upgrade to Cat 2, and ride more with my community which I totally accomplished and it was great! A major highlight being winning a race series, and riding on a tandem with my Grandma!

I competed at Athens Twilight, Tulsa Tough, Harlem Skyscraper, Tour of America's Dairylands, Intelligentsia (Where I won the Cat 2/3 omnium), and The Gateway Cup. I had the pleasure of doing community rides in Atlanta, Chicago, Minneapolis, Wisconsin and New York, and I completed the Ride Across Wisconsin, and Jensie's Gran Fondo (The year of Jensie, perhaps?). Hand delivered at least one brown girl into the racing scene. Not to mention I rode my bike from San Francisco to San Diego, and tent camped along the way. It was a solid year of new things, and killing the game.  2017 tho? 2017 is MY YEAR.

In 2017 I want my new project to be successful in order to support my goals and allow me to pay it forward. I aim to race as many major road races as I can get myself to. Do even more community rides, and hand deliver even more women of color into racing! LET'S DO THISSSSSS!!!!!
